How to Properly Clean Red and White Bathroom Linoleum
Many individuals elect to place red and white bathroom
Linoleum in various areas of the restroom of the home. Many
place this type of product on the floors, while others may
elect to place it on countertops. Regardless of where it is
located, it is imperative that you know the proper steps to
cleaning to cleaning this type of material. Here, you will find
the simple steps and requirements in doing just this!
1. First, you will want to gather some essential
supplies. Get out a bucket for the linoleum floor, and a large
bowl in order to clean any other linoleum in the room. For the
floor, you will need a mop. You will want to gather up a cloth
made of cotton for the countertops and other linoleum in the
bathroom. You should also purchase a bottle of apple cider
vinegar as this has been proven to be an effective cleaning
solution.
2. Now, you can choose whether to use straight vinegar
to clean the linoleum, or whether to use a combination of
vinegar and water. If you elect to put water in the cleaning
mixture, make certain that it is hot water. If you have
extremely dirty linoleum, then you will want to ensure that you
use a lot of vinegar. If you are just doing standard cleaning,
then a small amount of vinegar will be appropriate.
3. Many individuals are concerned about scratching the
surface of their red and white bathroom linoleum. This is why
it is important to use a soft mop, or soft cloth when cleaning
the surface of this material. Once you have decided to use
either a mop or a sponge, it is important that you thoroughly
wet the material. You will then want to wring out the material.
You never want to apply the cleaning solution on the linoleum
with an extremely wet cloth or sponge. This tends to just make
a bigger mess and since the solution will not dry into the
linoleum, it can remain wet for a long time to come.
4. Now, scrub down the linoleum with the appropriate
applicator – either the sponge or the mop. You should ensure
that the entire surface is thoroughly cleaned. Tougher stains
may require a little bit more vinegar and scrubbing than areas
that do not have stains.
5. Once completed, you may want to put a fan out and
turn it on high in order to ensure that the surface dries
quickly and completely. I have found that it is best to
implement the use of a fan that rotates so that the entire
cleaning area can be dried.
As you can see, cleaning the red and white bathroom linoleum
is not a difficult task at all. All it takes is a little bit of
time, a few supplies, and maybe a fan to help when it comes to
drying the material. Once you have done this, your linoleum
will appear bright and new once more. You should clean your red
and white linoleum at least once a week.
