Harlequin Bathroom Tile Design Ideas and Tricks

If it is time to do something with your master bathroom or your guest bathroom then you might need some theme ideas.  Remodeling your bathroom does not have to be a huge job nor does it have to cost you all your savings.  The first think to do is come up with a good bathroom theme to start your bath project.  The theme can be anything you like.  Monkey designs to palm trees and even outhouses can be used to make your bathroom unique.  One of my bathroom themes that I like is the Harlequin bathroom.

Deciding on the right bathroom tile design for your home will not be a simple matter when you start your remodeling project; unfortunately, the choice of styles available means making a decision can take quite some time. The increase in world trade has meant that there is a huge variety of styles to choose from and something to suit everyone's pocket. The use of marble, especially Italian, natural stones and the traditional harlequin tile designs are the more common but some of the newer types with lots of colors are fast becoming favorites too.

For those of you that cannot picture the harlequin bathroom tile, imagine black and white squares turned on their edge to resemble a diamond shape. Often these tiles are oblong shaped and seem to resemble the costume of a mime if you can recall what that looks like.

Despite the color choices it is the traditional black on white that provides the best finish and is usually the easiest to buy without having to place a special order. This design always ensure the bathroom looks clean and chrome fixings add to the effect without making it feel like a cold room.

Not everyone is happy with lots of shiny things because they have to be wiped constantly owing to the fingerprints that show so readily on them. This effect however, may not seem so wonderful if you have to spend time polishing the fixings everyday.

My favorite is the black and white design as the effect it has is hard to match and always improves the look of a bathroom. However, for real luxury you need to look at a bathroom tile design in marble and although expensive, really is the best flooring you can get.

Anyone who has shopped for bathroom tiles knows that some materials and patterns can be very expensive. You can work around this expense by using reasonably priced material as the foundation for your design. Once you have this it is a simple matter of choosing a higher quality tile to place within the overall design and as you won't be using a huge number of them, it really wont matter how much they cost.

This is the one area where getting a professional to carry out the tiling for you will be worthwhile and provide that special finish. If you want your bathroom remodeling project to look attractive and be completed in a reasonable time period then the extra cost of hiring a tradesman will be worth it.
